- Preparation and lodgement of the fund’s Income Tax Return, Activity statements, and Installment Activity Statements;

- Provide advice on compliance with the SIS Act and the fund’s Trust Deed; and
- Arrange a compulsory independent audit of the Fund and Actuarial Certificate (if required)

- Control – The assets of the fund are controlled by the Trustees;
- Investment Choice – With additional control also comes the flexibility for the trustees to nominate but within the bounds of the superannuation rules;
- Tax – Having a SMSF is a great vehicle for tax benefits such as 1) Concessional tax rate of 15% on income earned by the fund; 2) Upon reaching pension phase, income earned by the fund is tax free; and 3) Then when you consider the benefits of the points above in relation to imputation credits and capital gains;
- Insurance – certain insurance premiums such as life insurance are tax-deductible;
- Asset Protection – In the event of your personal business going bankrupt, assets belonging to a SMSF are generally protected from creditors;
- Pool Family Member’s Superannuation – A SMSF allows for up to four members. This provides for the opportunity for all of the members superannuation accounts to be pooled together in order to purchase a large asset, such as an investment property;
- Transfer of Assets – SMSF’s give you the ability to transfer certain personally owned shares directly into your super fund;
- Borrowing – SMSF’s now have the ability to take on limited recourse loans in order to purchase an investment such as a rental property
